Little Man’s Room

One day last week little man came home from school and discovered a red stripe had been painted all the way around his room! He always wanted one and I thought it would be fun to surprise him. So as soon as the school bus left, the husband and I got busy! Well, mostly I sat on the chair and gave directions and read magazines while he did all the work. I did however clean all the baseboards and dust everything as we moved all the furniture.

 

It turned out great! My man can sure paint a fantastic and very straight stripe! (with the help of some painters tape, of course)

I don’t really like the bed pushed up against the wall, but this just gives him more floor space for playing. This stripe just really seems to finish off the room but it’s still missing the crowning glory…CROWN MOLDING!!! Trust me, that is on the top of his  “honey-do” list for almost every room in the house!

These two lovely little people (one not so little anymore) are my reasons for being! For being the SAHM, for living on one income, for being the chief cook and bottle washer day in and day out, for not really knowing what my identity is anymore. But I’m ok with that. In fact, I’m really quite content at the moment with this quiet little life. Should I have more ambition, maybe. Should I have a plan for my future after the kids are gone, probably. Am I a bad person because I’m happy at home, I don’t think so.  But I am feeling a slight itch to have some sort of creative outlet, if it could produce some sort of income for my family that would be fabulous! But I must be able to work from the kitchen table!!! Got any suggestions????????????

Hi, welcome to the cul-de-sac! It's a great place to live; filled with great people, great parties, good stories and LOTS of kids! I hope you follow along on all my random musings.

It's Sunday night and I was hoping to have a meal plan in place for the week but I'm losing all my momentum sitting here in front of the computer. Hate when that happens! I only have tomorrow's dinner planned- Parmesan Corn Chowder and Pepper Steak Sandwiches. I'm betting that the 8 yr. old gives me a thumbs down on both these choices. Oh well, someday he'll enjoy all the new recipes I like to try right???

My friend Wendy over at www.relativelyunique.blogspot.com has a yummy looking recipe posted for a pasta chicken dish that I might try later in the week.
